The overall goal of our project is to provide deaf and hard of hearing youngsters, as well as youngsters with other communication obstacles, educational opportunities and interactive resources that will raise their employability skills and ensure a better position in the job market for this disadvantaged group.

 

Specific objectives of the project:

 

  1. To empower deaf and hard of hearing youngsters for entrepreneurial thinking and creating self-employment opportunities; by developing a toolkit with innovative workshops and activities, and online learning course with practical advice and educational materials for raising these skills and knowledge.

 

  1. To empower youth workers in creating educational activities and programs aimed at raising entrepreneurial and employability skills of deaf and hard of hearing youngsters as well as youngsters with other communication obstacles, through developing a curriculum.

 

  1. To provide practical knowledge and skills for deaf and hard of hearing youngsters to find jobs in field of virtual assistants, through developing and testing interactive online learning course adapted to needs of the target groups as well as youngsters with different communication obstacles.

 

  1. To build the capacities of youth organisations, associations of youngsters with communication obstacles, formal educational institutions, and SMEs for empowering youngsters with communication obstacles in the job market and entrepreneurial activities; through creation of interactive online depository platform, social media campaigns, and conference for networking and presenting innovative educational resources.

Project partners

The Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of the City of Zagreb is a venerable institution with a history spanning decades, making it the oldest association of its kind in the Republic of Croatia. The association stands as a stalwart advocate for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, working to bolster their status across multiple societal spheres including family life, educational settings, workplaces, and other communal arenas.

Youth Power Germany e.V., based in Berlin, is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation working to empower young people, especially those facing social and cultural challenges, including migrants. Their fundamental mission is to amplify the inherent strengths, rich diversity and spirit of unity among these young people and to support them in their smooth integration into the broader fabric of society.

Learning Library is a small edu-tech company that provides educational tools and solutions to companies and NGOs. The company idea was created in 2021, while the official registration of the company was done in 2022. Learning Library brings together experts from education, youth work, Human Resources (HR) and Information Technology (IT), with one aim – to help digitalise learning and educate individuals to improve local communities.
